These terms and conditions cover Unicorn Leather Saddlery (subsidiary of Bidsbuster).

 

THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS APPLY TO RETAIL SALES ONLY.

 

1. Prices and Terms

Unicornleather and Bidsbuster reserve the right to alter prices without notice.

All payment MUST be made and funds cleared before goods sent out.

Occasionally colours may vary slightly from images on the site.

Payment to be made in English Pounds.

Soon I will not be accepting Paypal, only bank transfers or cash 

All prices are listed on the site as well as the delivery charges to the UK mainland. These will be payable with in 7 days of receiving my emailed invoice.

Orders will be cancelled after 7 days if not paid in full.

 

Products, prices and promotions are valid only for the period which they are displayed (unless stated) and are all subject to availability. If any of these should change to your detriment or become unavailable in the period after you placed your order with us, you will be contacted before I proceed with your order.

 

 

2. Ordering 

All products  offered on my website are subject to availability and may be withdrawn at any time. Goods are made to order ONLY, very little stock, if any, is held.If for any reason I am unable to supply goods I will not charge you and any monies paid will be refunded in the same method as received. However, I will not be responsible for compensating you for any other losses that you may suffer if I do not supply goods within the times stated.

I endeavour to notify you of when I will make and send your goods. You should allow up to 14 days for the dispatch of the goods. If the delay becomes longer than 14 days you will be given the option to cancel the order and I will refund any monies paid by you. I shall not be liable for any losses, costs, damages, charges due to goods not being able to be made because sometimes I have to wait for raw materials to come in from manufacturers before I can start to make your item/s and I cannot predict how long it might take.

 

3.Carriage 

Orders that are paid for are handled within 24 hours but not necessarily sent out unti a few days later..

Goods sent to UK mainland ONLY

All goods with the exception of the cockerel collars will be sent via courier. Goods totalling more than  £30 will be sent via a signed for courier service.

Leather conditioner (200, 300, 550 and 800 gram  tubs) will also be sent via a signed for service.

 

Regarding signed for delivery, our couriers will attempt up to 3 times to deliver to you, if they fail to deliver your goods because there's no one there to sign for it and the goods are therefore returned to me, I will not refund you for the goods or the carriage. It is up to you, the customer, to make sure you are able to receive goods or give me an alternative address at the time of ordering where someone can sign for the goods on your behalf. If the goods are returned to me,  the onus will be on you to pay again for another courier to have them delivered back to you. You can choose and pay for  a courier of your own and send me the labels to print out via email, I will happily print these out and attach them to the parcel as well as making sure your courier picks it up from me safely. If you use your own courier you are liable for any damage or loss by them.

 

SO please make sure you are able to receive a signed for delivery!

 

Orders over £100.00 will be carriage free, UK mainland only.

If your signed for and tracked  goods go missing whilst in transit, whether lost or stolen, I will claim off of the carrier, I will not refund you until I have been re imbursed for the goods and postage costs by the carrier.

 

4. Cancellations

All orders placed are deemed to be firm commitments.

Any cancellations on ordered goods that have been made but not been posted but packed up ready to go will incur restocking fees (20%), I will refund the customer minus any fees.

Any goods already sent are the customer's responsibilty as I cannot cancel the delivery once the courier has picked the goods up from me.

 

Returns and Distance Selling Policies

In line with the distance selling regulations 2000 unicornleather.co.uk requires you to send a notice of cancellation in writing within 7 working days of receiving the goods , including  e-mail, informing me of your details including customer name and address stating the reason for cancellation of the goods. Once you have received an email with a  returns address label to print out from us from us you must return the goods in their original condition at your own expense. You have 20 days to return the goods. Any goods not returned in that time will not be accepted and if they turn up after the 20 day limit it will be your responsibility to have them delivered back to you.

Exceptions to the distance selling regulations include handmade and customised goods, these sales are final and will remain the property of the consumer and will not be credited.

The 20 days return regulation impose the responsibility of the consumer to take reasonable care of any goods supplied. This obligation applies before as well as after the consumer has given notice of cancellation. The 20 days provision is designed to ensure that the goods can be sold as brand new again. The consumer will be wholly responsible under this regulation for the cost of the return delivery and all damages of the goods. I deem reasonable care as meaning that the goods are in perfect condition, unopened (Locata and Leather Conditioner) unused and unworn, no scratches or stretch marks on any leather goods and all of the box and packaging intact.Leather is EASILY damaged so extra care must be taken with it. All accessories or instructions to the main product must be unopened. Products that have not been agreed by unicornleather.co.uk for return will not be accepted and be refused. Goods that do not fall into the above criteria and not resaleable as new will be refused with no refunds given and you will have the option of the goods being returned back to you at your cost.

 

5. Damaged Goods

 

Written notification must be received within 48 hours of receipt of goods, for damaged goods and shortages. PLEASE check the package or box on arrival before you sign for it and if it is damaged in any way write “box damaged on arrival” on the delivery note the carrier will ask you to sign, it helps me claim against the carrier it they have damaged my parcels whilst in their care.

 

6. Discounts

7. Health and Safety

Austin Back, Unicornleather.co.uk including Bidsbuster are not responsible for the health and safety of any of the customers or their equines who may use the my Locatas.

I cannot be held responsible either for people's actions who don't see, read or use their brains and common sense when dealing with lost horses or rider casualties and when reading/following the instructions/advice given in all locatas.

 

I am  a fully trained experienced traditional working saddler but I do not visit the customer’s premises to fit, flock and or repair saddlery, these services were discontinued in 2012.

 

No credit card details are taken or stored on this website.

 

8. Complaints

I pride myself on the high standard of service that I provide my customers but if you believe that you have cause for complaint about a product or a service that you have received from me, unicornleather.co.uk or bidsbuster please e-mail me. I aim to respond to all complaints within 3 working days where possible and then proceed to resolving the problem as soon as possible for you.

 

9. PCI compliance

 

What is PCI DSS and who needs to comply

 

Consumers are becoming increasingly aware of the dangers of identity theft and PCI compliance shows merchants  have secure procedures in place that keeps their payment information safe and secure. Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) is a set of 12 requirements that all businesses who handle credit or debit card payments must comply with. It provides business best practice guidelines to establish a "minimum security standard".

The PCI Security Standards require all merchants, regardless of size or number of transactions, who accept, store, transmit or process any cardholder data to comply with PCI DSS. The requirements, for the majority of merchants, are an Annual PCI Self Assessment Questionnaire and a Quarterly Network Scan.

 

As a merchant accepting card payments through Paypal only and not through this site directly I believe I am covered as PayPal is also required to comply with PCI DSS. The standard shopping carts I use on this site are complying with the current guidelines.

I do not take or store any personal data on this site.

I don't have my address on here as I run a private workshop here where I live which is not open to the public. 

I am also a carer for an elderly relation and do not want strangers turning up at my home night or day which has happened in the past back in Surrey when I lived there.

Friends are always welcome and don't need my address as they already know it.

I now do all of my business via the internet and post with no contact with customers other than email.

My business address is on all my invoices and receipts that are sent with the goods and I ask people to respect my privacy and not pass my details on or come cold calling.
